Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido expects 'ridiculous' bid for Manchester United target Luis Fabiano

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has admitted that he expects a ridiculous offer for Manchester United and AC Milan target Luis Fabiano, given the current volatility of the transfer market.

The Red Devils have been repeatedly linked with a move for the 30-year old, and will be hoping to secure Fabiano, who has starred in World Cup 2010 for Brazil, over the
summer transfer window.

Fabiano’s contract in Andalucia expires in June 2011, and the striker has already stated that he would prefer a move to either United or Milan in favour of signing a new deal with his current club.

However, according to
AS, Del Nido is looking for a substantial transfer fee, despite Fabiano’s desire to leave.

“Considering the way the transfer market is at the moment, it’s difficult for us to receive an offer for Luis Fabiano that isn’t ridiculous," he said.

“I believe that the most likely solution is that he stays on at Sevilla. He says he wants to play for a big club, but I would like Luis Fabiano to renew with Sevilla as soon as possible, signing an extension for another three seasons.”

The Brazilian forward is currently enjoying his national team’s run to the quarter-finals of
the World Cup, where he has netted three goals in four matches so far
