FIFA Is A Corrupt Organisation - Libyan Prez. Gaddafi
The 2010 World Cup is the first to be hosted by an African country, but this feat doesn't impress Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi, who has hit out at FIFA for being a corrupt organisation.
"FIFA is a corrupted organisation. They have a monopoly position in the world of football and are saving billions of dollars. Additionally, they are supporting modern slavery," Gaddafi was quoted as saying by reporters.
"FIFA should financially support countries that want to host the World Cup instead of making it exclusive for rich countries. In this way, poor countries will never ever see the World Cup on their soil.
"I've always said that the reigning champions should host the next version of the World Cup and that FIFA should pay all expenses. They have the money to do this, but don't want to spend it."
Libya are the only north African country that has never qualified for the World Cup so far.
